We are currently working on a few renovations to give our patients the best experience possible. However, the real draw is our friendly staff and amazing doctors.
What We Do
At Comprehensive Sleep and Breathing Disorders Center we treat all aspects of pulmonary management, COPD, smoking cessation, CPAP setup, offer breathing tests, treat certain cancers, provide screenings, and offer pediatric and adult sleep medicine. We are a preferred provider of sleep medicine by BCBS of Alabama. We have different specialists for pulmonary disorders and sleep medicine. We also offer the only pediatric sleep medicine treatment in the area outside of Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL. While they are often on a waitlist, we are currently accepting new patients.
We have a relationship with both Northport Hospital and DCH Medical Center, allowing us to provide sleep studies at their facilities. We also have a private sleep lab in Birmingham, AL.
We currently have 3 staff doctors; Dr. Narayan Krishnamurthy, Dr. Jeanne Lipscomb, and Dr. Secil Aydinoz.
Dr. Krishnamurthy has been in private practice in Tuscaloosa since 1995 involving Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He was instrumental in developing the Sleep Center at DCH Medical Center. He has attained Board Certification and Fellowship with Royal College of Physicians (UK), American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He has Served as Associate Professor, Pulmonary division, at UAB Medicine in Birmingham as well as College of Medicine at UA, Tuscaloosa. He has special interest in Sleep Education which he intends to continue.
Dr. Lipscomb has been in private practice since 1995 involving Pulmonary and critical care medicine. She joined our team in 2016 with a vision to provide compassionate care in office based practice in pulmonary medicine and currently has a satellite site in Fayette. She has special interest in COPD, Asthma, Pulmonary Fibrosis, and screening for lung cancer as well as obstructive sleep apnea. She is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and a fellow with the American College of Chest Physicians and has obtained Certification of Mentorship in Sleep Medicine by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Aydinoz is a Board Certified Pediatrician and Sleep Medicine Specialist. He graduated from the University of Ankara School of Medicine in Turkey. He obtained pediatric residency from Gulhane Military Medical Academy in Turkey and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed his Sleep Medicine fellowship at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to that, he had extensive training in Pediatric Sleep Medicine as a clinical research fellow at the University of Chicago. His special interest is to provide both adults and children including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and a wide variety of other sleep disorders.
The rest of our wonderful staff includes Amanda Manns, Juanna Gray, Melissa Smith, Brianna Washington, and Carly Finley. They can’t wait to meet you and make your visit a positive experience.
